Shirley J. Montross, 94, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Masonic Village. Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late Arthur B. and Miriam (Richards) Ruffner.  She was widowed by the first love of her life E. David Werner. In later life, she married William C. Montross who passed on August 5, 2014.

Shirley worked as a secretary for the Reading Public School System until retirement. At one time she was the proud owner of a catering business. Shirley will be remembered as a beautiful loving woman. She was an avid card player, especially pinochle, and dominos. She loved the sunshine and her grand and great grandkids.

She is survived by her son Donald S. Werner, husband of Carol A. of Bryantown, MD; two grandchildren: Heidi and Shelly; four great grand children: Jared, Grant, Brittany, and Brooke; brother Gerald Ruffner, and sister Jo Ann Groome. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Ruffner.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
