Shirley Elaine (Brandt) McCorkle, 59, of Harrisburg, passed away with her loving family by her side on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Pinnacle Health Systems, Harrisburg. She was born Saturday December 18, 1954 in Lancaster to the late Allen S. and Anna Arlene (Blecher) Brandt. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, David E. McCorkle.
Shirley loved dogs, especially her faithful k-9 companion, Kibey. She enjoyed camping and had a knack for crafting and refinishing and repurposing furniture. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by 2 sons, John H. McCorkle and wife Alexis and David A. McCorkle and wife Jennifer; 2 grandchildren, Ian and CJ; a brother, A. Scott Brandt and wife Susan; a sister, Annette Rodgers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 25 th at 10 AM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078, with Rev. Brad Sizemore and Rev. Brian Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Palmyra Cemetery. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 9 AM until time of the service.
