Shirley D’Allura, 87, of Palmyra, PA passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026. She was born September 24, 1938, in Steelton, PA to the late John Griffin and Geraldine (Mentzer) Geesey. She was the wife of John D’Allura, to whom she was married for 42 years.
Shirley was a Registered Nurse and served as one of the original nurses at the opening of the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in 1970. For 28 years she tirelessly supported and cared for thousands of patients throughout the hospital. Her career concluded with a number of years as a Critical Care nurse, followed by her role as a Family Surgical Nursing Coordinator. After retirement she continued her healing support to others as a Licensed Massage Therapist. Shirley was proud to have been nationally certified as well, and trained in numerous medical massage modalities. During her massage career of 28 years she was a member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals. She loved working from her home office called, Healing Hands Massage Practice.
In her free time Shirley sang with the Hershey Community Chorus. She enjoyed baking, gardening, swimming, biking and hiking the rails to trails, theater, and concerts. More than anything she was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a cherished friend to so many.
In addition to her husband, John, Shirley is survived by a son, Bob Brandt, (husband of Michele); a daughter, Michelle Brandt,(life partner of Darryl Tiberie); five grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Jordan, Nathaniel, and Aliyah; a great-granddaughter, Jasmine; brothers, Gordan Geesey Jr, and Bill Geesey, (husband of Doug). She was preceded in death by her son William Rudy,Jr. a granddaughter, Karynne; a brother, John Griffin; and sisters, Patricia Falcone and Madalyn Arnold.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 on June 20, 2026 from 10am-12pm for visitation, with a social gathering & sharing from 12-2pm. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
