Sharon E. (Heverling) Smith

Sharon E. (Heverling) Smith, 63, of Palmyra, passed away in Brunswick, GA on Thursday, September 12, 2013. She was born Wednesday, December 21, 1949 to the late Arthur and Martha (Greenawalt) Heverling. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years Donald C. Smith.

In addition to her husband she is survived by 2 brothers, Mark Heverling of St. Petersburg, FL and Lawrence Heverling of Lancaster Co.; and a sister, Yvonne Humm and husband Charles of Lebanon.

She was a member of Palmyra First Evangelical Congregational Church and was active in the Sunday School Adult Bible Class serving as a lecture. Sharon had previously sung in the church choir and had a passion for gospel music. In 1996 Sharon and Donald became snowbirds, traveling to Georgia in the winters to spend time at the beach which they both so dearly loved.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 20, 2013 at 2 PM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with Pastor Jan Fryer officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing from 1 PM until time of the service. Burial will follow in Covenant-Greenwood Cemetery, Ebenezer.
