Sarah Jeanne (Burris) Arndt

Sarah Jeanne (Burris) Arndt, 85, of Palmyra, passed away in her home on Saturday, March 23, 2013. She was born Sunday, March 27, 1927 in Cove, PA to the late Chester C. and Catherine E. (Miller) Burris.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Jan Garlin and husband David of Palmyra, Terry Arndt of Palmyra, and Kim Bricker and husband Gary of York; a son, Patrick Arndt of Lancaster; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by 5 siblings.

Sarah was a member of the Bahá'í religion. She retired from the H.B. Reese Company with 25 years of service. She was passionate about reading, enjoyed working in her vegetable garden, and kept her mind active by doing jigsaw and word search puzzles. The thing that she enjoyed most was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

David Garlin, Jr., Thomas Bricker, Nathan White, Patrick Arndt, Freeman Clayton Miller V, and “Skipper” Keith Shuey have the distinguished honor of serving as pallbearers.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 27th at 11 AM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with the Spiritual Assembly of Bahá'í of Harrisburg officiating the funeral and burial services. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10 AM until time of the services. Burial will follow in Hershey Cemetery, Hershey.
