RuthAnn (Rhoads) Risser

RuthAnn (Rhoads) Risser, 84, of Lebanon, passed away at home on Thursday, February 25,2016, less than three weeks after the passing of her husband, Harold Wayne Risser, Jr. They were married for 62 years in June. Born Tuesday, June 16, 1931 in Reading, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Mary Edna (Labe) Rhoads.

Mrs. Risser was retired from the Annville-Cleona School District where she taught 2nd and 3rd grades for 30 years. She was a member of the Lebanon Chapter #115, Order of Eastern Star; the Ladies Auxiliary Hermit Commandery No. 24, Knights Templar, Lebanon for 50 years and was a life member of PA Employees Retirement Association. Mrs. Risser was also a member of Salem United Church of Christ Church in Campbelltown where she served a s Sunday School teacher for 10 years and was a former President of the Church Guild.

Mrs. Risser is survived by three sons: Harold W. Risser, Lebanon; John T. Risser, Lebanon and Andrew L. Risser (Kate), Reading; three daughters: Mary Vi Risser, Tupelo, MS; Alice A. Harding (Randy), Lottsburg, VA and Rebecca L. Risser, Lebanon; six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She was predeceased by two brothers: John L. Rhoads and William A. Rhoads, Jr.

There will be no viewing. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 6:00-8:00 PM in Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA. A funeral service will take place on Monday in Salem United Church of Christ Church, 2761 Horseshoe Pike, Campbelltown at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

An Eastern Star Service will be conducted by Lebanon Lodge #115 on Sunday at the funeral home at 7:00PM.
