RUTH ARLENE (LONGENECKER) WEAVER

Ruth Arlene (Longenecker) Weaver, 86, of the Landis Homes Retirement Community and formerly of Mount Joy, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Heart of Lancaster Hospital.

She was born on February 15, 1928 to the late John S. & Emma (Herr) Longenecker.

She graduated from East Donegal High School in 1946.

Mrs. Weaver was a member of Bossler Mennonite Church, Elizabethtown. She enjoyed quilting.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years John L. Weaver, three daughters Jean Minnich Harnish and her husband Jerry of Bainbridge, Joyce Arlene Hess and her husband Richard of Elizabethtown, Rachel Weaver Tann and her husband Eugene of East Petersburg, a sister Alma H. Shertzer and her husband John of Durham, NC, a brother J. Melvin Longenecker and his wife Delores of Mount Joy, 7 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Anna Mae Aungst and a brother Ralph H. Longenecker.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Bossler Mennonite Church, 2021 Bossler Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Burial will be in Bossler Mennonite Cemetery.

Viewings will be from 6:30 pm until 7:30pm on Monday, April 7, 2014 in the East Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes Retirement Community, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543 and from 2pm until 3pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the church.
