Ruth R. (Earhart) Strickler

Ruth R. Strickler, 97, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born in Schuylkill Haven, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth (Ritter) Earhart. She was the widow of Amos Strickler who died in 1964.
Ruth was a graduate of Elizabethtown High School, class of 1933. She retired in 1979 from Elizabethtown Area School District where she was employed as a cook and server in the cafeteria. Ruth was a member of Elizabethtown Flower Club and was a charter member of Willowood Swim Club. She also enjoyed bus trips, and traveled all over the US and Canada.
Ruth is survived by her children: Carolyn Ann, wife of Russell
Anderson, Spring Hill, FL; Christian N. Strickler, Elizabethtown;
Robert E. Strickler, husband of Barbara, Mount Joy; Thomas A.
Strickler, husband of Betty, Cresco, PA and Stephen A. Strickler,
husband of Judy, Elizabethtown; 13 grandchildren, 20 great
grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Connie and three
brothers, Nathan, Henry and Benjamin Earhart.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Florin
Church of the Brethren, 815 Bruce Avenue, Mount Joy at 11:00 AM.
Viewing will be from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment will
take place in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.
