RUTH F. HERCHELROTH

Ruth F. Herchelroth, 82, of Bainbridge, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Hospice & Community Care of Mount Joy.

She was born on Tuesday, January 19, 1932 in Elizabethtown to the late Martin W. & Anna M. (Boltz) Barley.

Ruth was retired from the Bainbridge Elementary School after many years as a cook in the cafeteria.

She was an active member of Bainbridge Church of God, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fred Barley VFW Post in Elizabethtown, and a member of the Bainbridge Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Ruth enjoyed playing cards and getting together with her longtime friends, she simply enjoyed being around people. She and her late husband also enjoyed traveling.

She was the widow of John E. Herchelroth.

Surviving are her son Thurlow Stu Herchelroth and his wife Kimberly of Bainbridge, her daughter Lyn Louise Shank and her husband Fred of Pollock, Idaho, her brother Wilbur Barley of Elizabethtown, her daughter-in-law Erline Coble of Bainbridge, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Michael E. Herchelroth,  two brothers Fred Barley, Thurlow Barley, three sisters Mabel Hostetter, Emma Kretzing and Mary Jane Buffington.

A viewing will be held from 5:30pm until 8:30pm on Friday, June 13, 2014 in the Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory of Elizabethtown. www.millerfuneralhome.com .

Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
