Russell P. Baker

Russell P. Baker, 85, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024. He was born Monday, July 18, 1938, in Cabot, PA to the late Paul S. and Elesha E. (Brown) Baker. He was predeceased on Monday, May 23, 2022, by his loving wife, Lena Mae Baker.

Russell graduated from high school in 1957 and retired from Penn State Hershey Medical Center. A 32nd degree Mason, he was a member of Abraham C. Treichler Lodge 682, FNAM, Elizabethtown and the United States Marine Corp Veteran. Russ as he liked to be called was an avid fisherman who loved his family and friends dearly. If he wasn’t at the river you could find him attending his great granddaughters soccer games, going to breakfast with his buddies and being an overall encouragement to others. Russ and his wife Lena loved going to Black Lake NY many times to fish and even won a prize for catching certain fish.

He will be missed by many but not as much as those who had the privilege to call him Pappy.

He is survived by a daughter, Pamela Sue Snyder; a son, Russell P. Baker, Jr.; granddaughter, Nicole Durborow (Charles F. IV) and a great granddaughter, Sophie E. Durborow. He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Baker.

Family and friends are invited for visitation on Friday, July 5th from 3 to 4 PM at Brossman Ballroom, 71 Freemason Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. A Memorial Service will be held at 4 PM with Pastor Erin Maurer officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Village Columbarium.
