Roy Donald Frysinger

Roy Donald Frysinger, 81, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Londonderry Village, Palmyra.  He was born Thursday, July 22, 1943 in Harrisburg to the late Hiram J. and Irene Keller (Royer) Frysinger.  He was predeceased in 2009 by his loving wife Doris Jean (Fluke) Frysinger.

He graduated from Central Dauphin High School in 1961, attended Hershey Junior College, earned his bachelor’s degree from Elizabethtown College and his master’s degree in mathematics from Penn State University.  From 1967 to 1970, he and his wife taught at a teacher training college in Oturkpo, Nigeria. He was a professor of mathematics at Harrisburg Area Community College where he served from 1970 until his retirement in 2007.  He was an active and faithful member of Harrisburg First Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by a son, Todd M. Frysinger; a grandson, Quinn M. Frysinger; a sister, Anne Shifflet.  He was predeceased by a son, Kevin W. Frysinger; two brothers, Galen and Carl Frysinger; a sister, Faye (Frysinger) Glover.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 2 PM in the chapel/DiMatteo Worship Center at Londonderry Village, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra, PA 17078 with pastor Josiah Ludwick officiating (co-pastor Harrisburg First Church of the Brethren).  Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM until the time of the service. Private Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Hanoverdale Cemetery, West Hanover Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund of Londonderry Village, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra, PA 17078 or the Living Witness Fund, Harrisburg First Church of the Brethren, 219 Hummel Street, Harrisburg, PA 17104.
