Roland “Hank” E. Yunginger, Sr., passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from complications of lung cancer. Born in West Lampeter Twp., he was the son of the late B. Frank and Mary (Dussinger) Yunginger. He shared over 64 years of marriage with Joyce (Rohrer) Yunginger.
In addition to his wife, Roland is survived by his son, Roland, Jr. of Clifton Park, NY and his daughter Denise Y. Snyder of Myrtle Beach, SC; sisters: Nancy Rhoads, Anabel Gockley and Yvonne Baker; three grandsons: Jason Yunginger, Phillip Yunginger and Cole Snyder; four great grandchildren: Lila Mae Yunginger, Bohdi Yunginger, Jackson Snyder and Mila Snyder.
Roland was preceded in death by brothers: Norman, Frank, Charles and Joseph Yunginger and sisters: Susan Mowrer, Mildred McKinney and Janice Yunginger.
Roland worked at UGI for 41 years, retiring in 1996. He was a life member (49 years) of the Lancaster Lions Club, receiving both the Melvin Jones and Ralph Taylor Awards. He was also a member of Lancaster Lodge #43, F&AM. Roland was a member of the Nickel Mine Rod & Gun Club in Tioga and was a life member of the NRA. Roland enjoyed hunting, trap shooting, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and also reading about Civil War times.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 2:00 PM. Visitation with family will be from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Interment will be private.
