Roland J. Martel

Roland J. Martel, 68, of Hershey passed away on Wednesday January 17, 2024. He was born May 31, 1955, to Joseph Andre Gerard Martel and the late Kathleen Maryjane (Saucier) Martel.
After obtaining a high school degree he went to serve his country with the United States Army in Dessert Storm. While in the service he went through schooling to become a radio and television engineer. Later, he used his to degree to work as a chief engineer in television.
In his free time, Roland enjoyed playing video games, spending time at the Hershey VFW post 5302 where he was a lifetime member, going to the casino and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed for his fun “always ready to have a good time” attitude.
He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Miriam (Meg) Martel; children: Joe Armstrong, Steven Martel (Lisa) and Stephanie McArdle (Chris); grandchildren: Olivia, Hunter, Noah, Landen, Mya, Corbin, Aden, Arihana and Andrew; siblings: Joyce Hill, Diane Newman, Sandra Moreau, Donna DeCoste, Debbie Tripp, Robert Martel & Michael Martel He is preceded in death by his son Jarred Martel.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held Monday January 29, 2024 at 11:30 AM.
