Robert "Bob" Lee Penwell

Robert Lee “Bob” Penwell, formerly of Marietta, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022, of natural causes at the age of 74. Born and raised in Marietta, he was the son of the late Robert K. and Betty F. (Hendrix) Penwell.

Bob proudly served his country in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy and continued serving at Raven Rock Mountain Complex in Waynesboro, PA until his retirement in 2010.

Bob will be remembered as an avid poker player and a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Phillies. He also enjoyed bowling.

He is survived by a daughter, Gina Penwell, of West York and a son, Tony Emlet, of Lancaster. Also surviving are two sisters: Cheryl L., wife of Clair Nace, of Marietta and Cathy L., wife of Tom Martin, of Lancaster; nine grandchildren and one great grandson.

Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia. A public Memorial Service will be held at a time in the near future.
