Robert E. Walmer, 97, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2024. He was born on Wednesday, January 12, 1927 to the late Harvey S. and Lucy D. (Laudermilch) Walmer. He is predeceased by his loving wife since December of 2017, after 71 years of marriage, Joyce S. (Shay) Walmer.
Robert was a proud Navy Veteran, he was a member of the Legion Post 386, the Hershey Veterans Administration, Post 6417, Palmyra. He also was involved with the Friendship Fire Co., Lebanon, also a member of the Chocolate Workers Union 464, Hershey.
Robert is survived by his daughter: Donna Blouch and husband Timothy. In addition to his parents and wife he is predeceased by his brother, Albert Walmer.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 11 AM at the Palm Lutheran Church, 11 W. Cherry St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with Reverend Carl Rabbe officiating. A time of viewing will take place from 10 AM until the start of the service. Burial will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville with full military honors.
