Robert G. Lesher Profile Photo

Elizabethtown native, Robert G. Lesher, 87, passed away on October 10th at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. He was born on August 21, 1925 to Roy and Marie Lesher, longtime residents of Elizabethtown.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marie; his daughter Ann Suknaic (Steve); his son Mark Lesher (Marcella); granddaughter Amanda Marcozzi (Dennis); and grandson Robert Suknaic. He is also survive by his sister Joyce Sharpless (Ed) and brother Galen Lesher (Joanne) and many nieces and nephews.
Bob loved speaking Pennsylvania Dutch which he learned from his grandfather while staying at the family farm during his childhood summers. He served proudly in the Army Air Corps as an aviation cadet during WWII. After he left the service he graduated from Elizabethtown College with a degree in business. He began his 39 year career with GMAC Finance Corp. after completing his degree. Upon retirement he devoted many hours to his favorite hobby of woodworking. He enjoyed serving as a volunteer curator at the State Museum of Pennsylvania
where he assisted in the conservation of William Penn’s desk and the Hershey Museum’s Apostolic Clock as well as many other woodworking projects.
He had a great sense of humor, a joy of life, and was a wonderful
husband and father. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
