Robert L. Espenshade

Robert L. Espenshade, 83, of Bainbridge, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at his home in Londonderry Township following a courageous battle with cancer.  He was born Thursday, March 31, 1932 in Elizabethtown to the late Claude W. Espenshade and Anna Mary (Shank) Hitz.  He was married to Caroline E. (Sheaffer) Espenshade for over 45 years.  Mrs. Espenshade died on February 18, 2003.

A veteran, Bob proudly served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  He had a strong Christian Faith and enjoyed telling others of God’s love as well as always lending a helping hand wherever he could.  Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He will be lovingly missed by a daughter, Virginia L. “Gini” Phillips of Bainbridge; seven grandchildren as well as Bob’s extended family and caring friends.  He was predeceased by a son, Raymond E. Espenshade.

A Graveside Service will be held at Hillsdale Cemetery, Middletown, on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 10 AM.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022.
