Robert Joseph Buchter

Robert Joseph Buchter, 49, of Palmyra, died at home on Saturday, December 3, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born Sunday, December 18, 1966 in Hershey to Larry A. and Ethel M. (Clawser) Buchter.  He is survived by his wife Barbara (Wells) Buchter.

He was a God honoring man who was devoted to his wife and children.  He graduated from Palmyra Area High School class of ’84 and Penn State University class of ’88.  He owned and operated Robert J. Buchter, P.E., Structural Engineering Services and served his community well in many ways.  He was a member of Grace Point Evangelical Free Church, AACA (National and Hershey Region), many professional engineering organizations and more importantly volunteered his time generously to all in need both at home with his time and skills, and abroad through Engineering Ministries International.

In addition to his loving wife and parents, he will be greatly missed by a son, Benjamin Buchter; a daughter, Penelope Buchter; a sister, Sherri Kanode and husband Kevin; two sisters-in-law, Susan Dunleavy and Deborah Morita and husband Kenneth; and nieces and nephews, Timothy Kanode, Lauren Bechtold, Andrea Dupler, Keo Morita, and Emma Morita.

A memorial service honoring his life will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11 AM at the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey, 330 Hilltop Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036 with Pastor Bob Sproul officiating.  Family and friends are invited for visitation from 9 AM until time of the service.  Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.  Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
