Rickey E. Franks, Sr.

Rickey E. Franks, Sr., 63, of Middletown, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 13, 2023 at home. Born Saturday, June 20, 1959 in Hershey, he was the son of Budd and Dorris (Templin) Franks. He was married 25 years to Debby L. (Halbleib) Franks.

Rickey worked in masonry since he was 15 years old, at times with his Uncle Butch and with Franks Concrete Construction. He enjoyed hunting and fishing especially with his sons. He was a member of the Moose in Elizabethtown, Dela-Ches Fishing Club, the American Legion and VFW. Rickey was Green Bay Packers fan and loved Camaros and motorcycles. He also enjoyed woodworking and carpentry, and was a talented artist in drawing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Rickey E. Franks, Jr. of Middletown; Leroy Franks and wife Tiffany of Marysville and Jeremy Franks and wife Jamie of Elizabethtown; three step-daughters: Susan Halbleib, Lisa Martin and Amanda Slade; 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; a sister Susan Dunkleberger and husband Steve; a brother Harry Shaffner, and his Aunt Patricia Shank. He was predeceased by a son Anthony E. Franks.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Grace Chapel, 2535 Colebrook Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 12:00 PM. Visitation with family will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
