Richard Reeser Wood

Richard Reeser Wood, 93, of Elizabethtown, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 8, 2015.  He was born Monday, August 22, 1921 in Marietta to the late Robert E. and Mary (Weaver) Wood.  He is survived by his loving wife of 58 ½ years, Patricia Mae (Odell) Wood.

Richard was a faithful member of Elizabethtown First Church of God and a retiree of the Donegal School District.  He enjoyed working with his hands, doing latch hook rugs, throwing horseshoes, and being a handy fix-it man.  Richard was an avid fan of Duke Basketball, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Elizabethtown boys basketball team.  Many days you could find him at Giant greeting people and socializing.  Most importantly he was a devoted family man who loved supporting and spending time with those he loved.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Diane Snyder and husband Pete of Elizabethtown and Barbara Wood of Elizabethtown; a son, Gregory Wood and wife Gina of Elizabethtown; 5 grandchildren, Aaron Richard Wood, Alexis Lerch, and Melanie, Robert, and John Snyder; and 8 great-grandchildren, Eric, Hannah, Jake, Jordan, Katelyn, and Kelly Snyder, and Megan and James Lerch.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 12 ^th at 11 AM at Elizabethtown First Church of God, 144 S. Market St., Elizabethtown, 17022 with Pastor Mark Yarger officiating.  Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10 AM until time of the service.  Burial will be in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown 17022.
