Richard H. “Dick” Shertzer

Richard H. “Dick” Shertzer, 91, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown.  He was born Saturday, December 29, 1923 in Lancaster to the late E. Harold and Irene (Kendall) Shertzer.  He was married to Evelyn M. (Trimble) Shertzer for over 62 years.  Mrs. Shertzer died on July 1, 2012.

A Veteran of WWII, Dick proudly served with the U.S. Army in Europe earning a Silver Star and two Purple Hearts.  He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid golfer.

He will be lovingly missed by two sons: Richard H. “Rick” Shertzer and wife Nancy, of Hummelstown; Randall H. “Randy” Shertzer, of Collegeville; two grandchildren: Emily Shertzer, Richard H. Shertzer and wife Amy as well as two great grandchildren, Hayden and Benjamin Shertzer.

A Memorial Service will be held in Sell Chapel at Masonic Village, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA  17022 on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 10:30 AM.  Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with full military honors.  Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at Sell Chapel following the service on Friday. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022.
