Richard Harry Griffith, 80, of Palmyra, PA formerly of North Plainfield, NJ passed away at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA on Thursday, April 4, 2013. He was born Tuesday, March 21, 1933 in Kingston, PA to the late Kermit Griffith and Francis (Lynn) Thompson. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Linda (Hodja) Griffith.

He was an Army Veteran proudly serving his country during the Korean War, as well as a Marine Corps veteran serving from 1958-1960. For 32 years he served and protected the people of North Plainfield as an officer in the police department. He was a retired member of PBA and a member of Palmyra’s Sportsmens Association, Inc. He was passionate about hunting and fishing. Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, and Pop Pop.

In addition to his wife he is survived a daughter, Amy Webster and husband Richard of Red Lion, PA; 2 grandchildren, Madison Griffith and Richard Hayes Webster of Red Lion, PA; a brother-in-law, Harold L. Hodja of NJ; and many nieces and a nephew. He is predeceased by a brother, Kermit Lynn Griffith; and a step-father, T.C. Thompson.

A graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 9th at 11:30 AM in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA, with The Rev. Dr. William H. Cluley officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078.
