Richard M. Crawford, 93, of Hummelstown, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Monday, November 10, 2025, which would have been his 69th wedding anniversary. He was born May 16, 1932, on the family dairy farm, to the late Albert C. and Leola (McCoy) Crawford. He is predeceased by the love of his life and wife of 67 years, Marie G. (Medeiros) Crawford whom he met serving in the Airforce and together they built a life of love and devotion.
He was an Air Force veteran who took great pride in his service. He continued his career at Amp Inc. for more than 30 years as a Machine Shop Supervisor retiring in 1989. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, woodworking, and birdwatching and was known as a true handyman who could fix or create just about anything. He was a devoted Phillies and Hershey Bear’s fan. His laughter was contagious, and he had a natural talent for making others smile. More than anything, Richard loved his family deeply.
Richard was an avid hunter who took pride in all his deer. He started his hunting career in 1967 when he harvested his first deer. His love for the outdoors continued his whole life. At age 92 he harvested his last deer for 32 years in a row for a total of 67 deer.
He is survived by his children, Judith Conner (Daniel), Richard Crawford, Jr., Debra Ortenzio, Kathleen Crawford (Randy Whitmer), and Eric Crawford (Dolly); 13 grandchildren, Michelle, Erica, Carrie, Angela, Sarah, Lucas, Nichole, Keith, Joshua, Lauren, Matthew, Alex, and Hunter; 23 great grandchildren; and 2 great, great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his siblings, Margaret Nornhold, William Crawford, Mary Lee Gregory, Frank Crawford, Dorothy Rife, Charles Crawford, Luther Crawford, John Crawford, Pauline Wagner, Betty Wyrick.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 12:30 PM at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078. A time of viewing will be held from 10:30 AM until the start of the service. Burial will follow the service at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with full military honors.
