Rebecca Jane (Peiffer) Wallace, 87, of Palmyra passed away peacefully on December 7, 2023. She was born in Mount Aetna on December 28, 1935, to the late Robert H. and Lizzie A. (Gingrich) Peiffer.
After graduating high school, she worked in several different factories (she liked factory work), while raising her 4 children. She ended her working career at Hobart Sales & Service in Harrisburg. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, she was a certified decorative artist and an accomplished archer. She was National Field Champion in 1970 and 1974, she was named Woman Athlete of the Year in 1975, and she placed 10th in the World Archery championships, held in Sweden in 1976. She loved the Lord and attended Lebanon Valley Bible Church for many years. Becky will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Richard Wallace; children: Debra J. Hentz (Blair), Wendy J. Hoffer (Kenneth) and David W. Wallace (Janet); grandchildren: Angie Cooley, Heather Kickbusch, Jamie O’Malley, Tonya Stoffel, Jessica Wallace and Andrew Wallace; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild, and her sister Julia Peiffer Shervanick. She is preceded in death by her son, Terry R. Wallace and sister Florence Peiffer Boltz.
A visitation will be held Monday December 11, 2023, at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home and Crematory. 25 W Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078. Starting at 10:00 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM.
Graveside services will be held at Gravel Hill Cemetery at noon.
In lieu of flowers donations in Rebecca’s memory may be made to the Palmyra Sportsmen’s Club.
