Randall T. Markley, 79, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at his home with his wife of 40 years by his side.  Born August 8, 1943, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late John Markley, Jr. and Mary (Barnes) Ivory.

A Veteran, Randy proudly served his country with the United States Air Force as a recruiter during the Vietnam War era  He later served in the Army Reserves during the Iraq war. His early career was in home center management after which, he was a general contractor for home construction and renovations for over 35 years.   In later years, he and his wife bred and showed Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs.   He had great love for God, his Country, and his family, and found much joy and pride in his beloved dogs.

He will be remembered by those who knew and loved him as a very gentle and soft-spoken man, one who always volunteered his many talents and skills to help others, and one who could always be counted upon to be a rock of strength and a presence of calm.

He is survived by his wife, Katie (Shank) Markley, two sons:  Todd Markley (Ann) of Mississippi, and Shawn Markley (Kat) of Washington, three stepsons:  Garry Range (Kristy) of Tyler, TX, Bryan Range (Michele) of Elizabethtown, PA, and Jason Range of Myrtle Beach, SC.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother:  John Markley, III, a sister:  Kathy Ivory, a stepfather: Robert Ivory, and a daughter-in-law: Jessica Range.

A Committal Service will take place at 2:30 PM on Friday, September 2, 2022, in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA, with military honors.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Randy’s memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or Wounded Warrior Project.
