Ralph B. Detz

Ralph B. Detz, 80, of Elizabethtown passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 in his home with family by his side.  Born Tuesday, September 20, 1938 to the late Quinn and Rebecca (Barninger) Detz.  He is predeceased by his wife Patricia L. (McCurdy) Detz since 2003.

Ralph enjoyed spending time at the casino and playing poker along with trips to the beach with his wife and family.  He was also a big sports fan and enjoyed racing sprint cars at the silver springs racetrack.  Ralph was a coach of the midget program in Elizabethtown, he was a caring and giving individual.  Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, and uncle.

He is survived by his children, Donna Long, Joni Robinson, Sherry Schnoke and husband Dale, Randy Detz, Lisa Detz, Teresa Detz, and Jason Detz; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Catherine Griffin and Becky Clark; brothers, Vernon Detz, Robert Detz, and Melvin Detz.  He is predeceased by brothers Quinn Detz, Jr., and Arthur Detz, and sisters, Judy Baker, Sylvia Henny, Arlene Grove, Dottie Schenburger, and Betty Reissinger.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 10 AM at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022.  Burial will follow at a later date at Bainbridge Cemetery, Bainbridge.
