Peggy E. Myers, 91, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024, at the Masonic Village Health Care Campus. She was born June 10, 1933, in Hershey, to the late Albert S. and Mildred P. Espenshade. She was the loving wife of Mervin J. “Jack” Myers, who passed away in November 2009.
A 1951 graduate of Hershey High School, Peggy completed additional coursework at Hershey Junior College. She worked for many years for The Hershey Company, holding various executive-level administrative support positions until her retirement in 1995.
Following retirement, Peggy volunteered at the Elizabethtown Senior Citizens Club. She was active in the local Flower Club and her church, Stevens Hill Community Church of the Brethren. A life-long fitness devotee, she enjoyed working out at a local fitness club and, with her late husband, traveled extensively throughout the United States, including Alaska. After his passing, Peggy continued to travel, enjoying several Caribbean cruises with friends.
Peggy is survived by her two daughters, Sharon O’Neal-Lehner of Reinholds, PA and Jill Gibson, wife of Earl Gibson, Jr., of Campbelltown, PA as well as a stepdaughter, Susan Miller, wife of Scott Miller, of Prospect, PA. Additional survivors include seven grandchildren, Erik Lehner, Devin Gibson, Alexa Gibson, Jensen Gibson, Quinn Gibson, Rachel Gibson, Cara Gibson and a great-grandchild, Logan Lehner. She was preceded in death by her son, Rick O’Neal, who passed away in 2003.
Family and friends are invited for viewing on Wednesday, August 14th from 9 to 10 AM at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM with Pastor Jamie Nace officiating. Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, where Peggy will be laid to rest with her husband, a Korean War Veteran.
