Pearl M. (Haarup) Wellmerling

Pearl M. (Haarup) Wellmerling, 100, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born Saturday, July 24, 1920 in Marathon, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Iola (Shaffer) Haarup. She was married to the late Donald “Dick” Wellmerling.
Pearl was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elizabethtown.
She is survived by a brother, Dwight Haarup, of Columbus, OH; two grandchildren: Lisa Taylor and Michelle Tharpe, of Cary, NC; a great-grandson, Devan Taylor, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and caring friends, including her close friend, Thelma Mumma, of Elizabethtown. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Tharpe, a sister, Sylvia Butler and a brother, Donald Haarup.
Private interment will take place in the Memorial Gardens at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elizabethtown, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, 717-367-1543.
