Pearl Catherine (Stepp) Hoch

Pearl Catherine (Stepp) Hoch, 88, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at the Middletown Nursing Home, Middletown.  She was born Saturday, September 24, 1932 to the late Earl Nelson Stepp, Sr. and Sarah Isabell (Campbell) Stepp.  She was predeceased by her first husband: Earl T. Berstler, Jr since January 15, 1986; and her second husband, Robert S. Hoch, Sr. Since April 12, 2021.

Pearl was an amazing kind hearted woman who always thought of others.  She was caring and giving and loved her family more than anything.  Most importantly she was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother.

She is survived by her children: Thomas Berstler Sr, Lin Coble and companion Randy, Cindy Zimmerman and companion Bryan; grandchildren, Shelli Dejesus and husband Luis, Alicia Crumlich and companion Matt, Alan Acri Jr. and companion Deb, Jennifer Arnold, and Thomas Berstler Jr. and wife Milissa; great-grandchildren, Amanda Pickles and husband Lyle, Alyssa Evans, Alan “AJ” Acri, Kaden, Keara, and Kya Gailbraith, and Maddox and Mila Berstler; great-great grandson, Austin Pickles; sister, Geraldine Freeze; step children, Robert and Cathy; and 3 step grandchildren.  She is predeceased by her siblings: Glenn Stepp, Earl “Buddy” Stepp Jr., Richard “Dick” Stepp, Lavern Stepp, Loretta “Sis” Shambaugh, Marie “Babe” O’Donnell, and Lois Berstler, step son, Terry, and one step grandson.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 4PM at the Hillsdale Cemetery, Middletown, PA.
