PEARL R. DOHNER
We called her Aunt Pearl but many others called her Miss Dohner.
Pearl R. Dohner, 86, formerly of Rheems entered into a long deserved rest Sun Nov 16, 2014 at Manor Care in Lancaster. Born in West Donegal Twp, she was the daughter of the late McLester and Anna Mary (Rensel) Dohner.
She graduated from Donegal High School (Maytown) and Millersville State Teachers College (now Millersville Univ), began a 30-year career teaching in the Donegal School District retiring from Middletown School District.
She enjoyed handwork – sewing, crocheting and needlepoint; many of her creations could be seen in her sibling’s homes. She was also an avid reader and although retired, she continued to teach us even if we didn’t want to learn them.
She is survived by two brothers, Victor F. Dohner of Elizabethtown and Benjamin F. Dohner of Norristown; two sisters, Helen A. Huber of Conestoga and Mary K. Bowser of Salem, OH and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul Rensel, David, Eli and Leonard Dohner and one sister C. Marie Brandt.
A graveside service will be held Sun November 30, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
Arrangements are under the care of the Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory of Elizabethtown. To share condolences please go to
