Pauline Kathryn (Rittle) Ginder, 85, formerly of Hershey, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014 in Spring Creek Rehabilitation & Health Care, Harrisburg. She was born Thursday, November 22, 1928 in Fredericksburg to the late Robert and Mamie Rittle. She was predeceased by her loving husband Clarence E. Ginder to whom she was married to for 63 years.

Pauline was a lifelong member of Palmyra First E.C. Church. She retired from Hershey Foods after 24 years in the wrapping department; she was a member of Local 464 Chocolate Workers Union. She kept her hands busy by crocheting, knitting, and doing cross stitch. Pauline was an avid matchbook cover collector for 30 years; she was a member of Rathkamp Matchcover Society. Most importantly she was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Donna E. Backenstoes and husband Ralph of Annville and Jane G. Swims and husband Douglas of Hummelstown; a son, Dale E. Ginder and wife Linda of Elizabethtown; 5 grandchildren, Amy and Greg Backenstoes, Christopher and Cassandra Ginder, and Maya Swims; 2 brothers, Harvey and Kenneth Rittle; and 4 sisters, Betty Sudbury, Verna Burke, Mamie Haldeman, and Clara Moyer. She was predeceased by 5 siblings, Howard, Ralph, Robert, and David Rittle, and Phoebe Nelson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 13th at 10:30 AM at Palmyra First E.C. Church, West Main & College Streets, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Reverend Jan R. Fryer officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing at the church from 9 AM until time of the service. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Annville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 867, Hershey, PA 17033 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 237 Court St., Reading, PA 19601. Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra has been entrusted with the arrangements.
