Paul R. Spangler, Sr.

Paul R. Spangler, Sr., 87, formerly of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Newport Meadows in Christiana. Born Wednesday, September 22, 1936 in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Harry and Julia (Winegarden) Spangler. He was married 64 years to Gloria F. (Eshleman) Spangler who passed away in June 2020.
Paul worked at Kreider Shoe Factory from age 16 until it closed in 1990, and retired from Shippers Paper Products. He enjoyed racing drag cars, hunting, fishing and camping.
Paul is survived by a brother Donald, a sister Jean and a siter in law Mary Eshleman. He was predeceased by a son Paul R. Spangler, Jr. and three siblings.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in the United Christian Cemetery in Campbelltown.
