Paul H. Givens

Paul Heagy Givens, (82) of New Tripoli, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Born July 5, 1942, to the late Alvin Longenecker and Bernice (Heagy) Givens. He left Earth's bounds and was received into the hands of our loving gracious Heavenly Father.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Elaine (Sheaffer) Givens, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage January 11, 2025.

Paul had a natural ability to bring a smile to everyone he met. He was a great story teller. Paul graduated from Elizabethtown Area High School (1960), attended Franklin and Marshal College, and had a real estate license in New Jersey. Paul was a successful businessman who dedicated many years to help clients through financial planning and insurance, accumulating many awards and travel opportunities. He was a craftsman who enjoyed restoring houses and recently expressed his creativity by building bird houses. Plus, spending many summers on Long Beach Island, NJ with his family. Paul played football for the E-town Bears wearing the #24 Jersey. Paul was a football coach and board member with the Northwestern Youth Athletic Association for many years. He was an Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Penn State fan.

Most importantly he was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. Paul is survived by his brothers: David (Elizabeth), Robert (Carol), Harold (Pam) and Elvin (Debbie) Givens -- he was predeceased by his oldest brother, Marlin (Rosalyn) Givens.  Paul’s children are: Kimberly (Rick) Jackson, Monica (Abe, Chip) Weidman, Craig (Heather) Givens, Lynn (Aaron) Miller, Brian (Lauren) Good. Grandchildren – Brittany, Zac (Ashley), Ben Jackson; Amanda (Paul) Mast, Mitchell (Emily), Nickolas, Abby Weidner; Julia (Joel) Pletcher, Ryan Givens, Aubrie (Jorge) Sauerzopf, Daulton (Jackie) Good, Lauren Good, and Joshua (Alexandra) Miller, plus 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by grandson, Teague Sauerzopf.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:30AM at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078. A visitation will be held from 10:30AM until the time of service. There will be a private family burial at Shope’s Mennonite Cemetery, Middletown.
