Patricia Ann Miller of Palmyra, PA passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Pat was born on March 10, 1939 in Coventry, England to Anne (Peoples) Close.
She was born at the beginning of World War II and spent her first 5 years of life in Larne, Northern Ireland in her grandparents’ seaside cottage because of bombing in England. She met the love of her life and husband John Franklin Miller while he was stationed at a US Airforce Base in Upper Heyford, England. They were married on February 16, 1963. They returned to the United States where she became a US citizen and they moved to Palmyra, PA. She had a longstanding career as a beautician and then transitioned over to dog grooming and owned Top of Hill Dog Grooming for over 35 years; retiring at the young age of 86.
She had a love of all things English and Irish, animals, music, flowers, sweets, playing the slots and lottery, and most importantly, her family and friends. She had a sharp wit and was a wonderful and inquisitive conversationalist, known lovingly as “Chatty Patty”.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Miller, her sisters Winnie, Muriel, Sally, Elizabeth, Dorothy, Sheila, and Audrey and her brother Billy. She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Miller Wandzilak of Hershey, PA; and her granddaughter and “go to” sweet pea Olivia Grace Wandzilak of Scottsdale, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Louise Kreiser and Irene McKenzie; and numerous nieces and nephews in both England and the US whom she loved dearly. She will be deeply missed every day.
