Neil J. Burke, of Annville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Gorges State Park, Sunset South Carolina. He was born May 4, 1955, in Ambler, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph A Burke Jr and Agnes G Burke.

Neil began his career with the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier, where his strong work ethic and natural leadership led him to rise through the ranks to become the Regional Business Manager. He retired in 2016, dedicating his time to what mattered most, sharing life’s moments with his beloved wife, Dixie.

Over the past 15 years, Neil embraced life to the fullest. He and Dixie traveled the world, explored the Appalachian Trail, attended countless concerts, and lived the Parrothead lifestyle, rarely missing a chance to enjoy the music of Jimmy Buffett. He found joy in the simple pleasures—biking, fishing, sharing a cold beer, and making memories with those he loved. Above all, Neil cherished every moment spent with his family. He is survived by his loving children, Danielle Burke and Ryan Burke (Kristen), who were his greatest pride and joy. Being a father was the role he held closest to his heart.

Neil and Dixie were deeply committed to their community, frequently volunteering with the Salvation Army and giving generously of their time to support those in need also the Central PA food bank. He was a member of the Gravel Hill UMC, Palmyra and was an active member of the Partners in Missions Team.

An adventurer at heart, Neil had a gift for storytelling, often sharing tales of the many unforgettable and sometimes wild experiences he and Dixie encountered along the way. His spirit, humor, and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Neil was predeceased by his father-in-law, Gene Kulp and brother Michael Burke.

In addition to his wife and children, Neil is survived by his siblings, Terri Borusiewicz (Stephen), Jaime Burke (Terri Lynn), Kevin Burke (Myoung) and Sharon Burke; his mother-in-law, Beverly Kulp; his brothers-in-law, Jarrod Kulp and Robert Kulp (Kelly); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
