Nancy "Lou" (Lehman) Myers

Nancy “Lou” (Lehman) Myers, 78, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side on Monday, October 27, 2014.  She was born Monday, January 27, 1936 in Palmyra to the late Brandt L. and Anna M. (Goodman) Lehman.  She was predeceased by her loving husband Kyle “Jersey” H. Myers earlier this year.

Nancy was a 1953 graduate of Palmyra Area High School and captain of the cheerleading squad.  She was a member of the “Kaylor Gang” and the namesake for the Nancy Lou Bar-B-Que in town.  Nancy was an active member of Campbelltown United Methodist Church, singing in the Senior Choir and helping with their annual church bazzar.  She enjoyed spending time at her cabin upstate, cheering on her grandson’s sports teams, and was a 20 year season ticket holder for the Hershey Bears.  Most importantly she was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan Hinkle and husband Clair of Palmyra; a grandson, Matthew Hinkle of Palmyra; and 5 siblings, Kathryn Grosh, Earl “Dick” Lehman, Betty Hoffman, Ruth Bucher, and Eleanor “Jean” Witmer.  She was predeceased by 4 siblings, Marlon Lehman, Sarah Longenecker, Anna Lehman, and Pauline Root.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 1st at 11 AM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078 with Rev. Denise M. Founds officiating.  Family and friends are invited for viewing from 9 AM until time of the service.  Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Campbelltown United Methodist Church, 2760 Horseshoe Pike, Campbelltown 17010, Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111, or Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
