Miriam K. Showalter, 99, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the Masonic Village of Elizabethtown.

She was born on Friday, June 18, 1915 in Beaver Springs, PA to the late Daniel & Katherine Walter.

Miriam was a very active member of Trinity Full Gospel Church of Elizabethtown, where she was also a Sunday School Teacher. She was a gifted quilter, an excellent cook and craft maker.

She had worked at the Beford Shoe Company in Elizabethtown.

Miriam was the widow of Charles E. Showalter, who passed away in 1979.

Surviving are a daughter Linda K. Barton and her husband Michael of Mt. Joy, a son Ronald C. Showalter of Port Charlotte, FL, three grandchildren Diane Sier and her husband Paul, Brenda Cahill, Michael Barton, Jr. and his wife Danielle, five great grandchildren Ashley Saha and her husband Rajdep, Taylor Barton, Emily Barton, Michael Barton, III and Zayden Barton. She was preceded in death by four brothers and 11 sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Good’s Mennonite Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
