Miriam K. O’Donnell

Miriam K. O’Donnell, 97, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Lancaster General Hospital. She was born August 22, 1918 and lived her entire life in Elizabethtown. She was the daughter of the late David B. Kline and Kathryn (Bashore) Kline.

She is survived by her cousins  Suzanna Obetz of Manheim, Gail Coles of Apex, NC, and Janet Kanoff of Hershey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert, two brothers, John Emmert Kline and S. Mark Kline, and one sister, Naomi E. Kline.

Miriam attended schools in Elizabethtown, graduating from high school in 1936 and Elizabethtown College in 1940. She taught elementary children for thirty-seven years in three different school districts: Swatara Twp., Middletown, and Elizabethtown. She was active in the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for seventeen years.

Miriam enjoyed playing the piano, painting, and interior decorating. Her cat, Reggie, was her constant companion during the later years of her life.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown, PA with Pastor Pam Reist officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren at 777 S. Mt. Joy Rd., Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
