Miriam J. Floyd, 82, of Elizabethtown, went home to be with the Lord
on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Longwood Manor in Maytown. Born in
Mount Joy Twp., she was the daughter of the late Jacob E. and Miriam
(Sauder) Forry. She was the wife of the late A. Lawrence Floyd who
died in 2001.
A homemaker, Miriam was a member of the First Church of God in
Elizabethtown where she sang in the choir. Also a member of the Milton
Grove Sportsman Club Ladies Auxiliary, she cooked for many years at
both the church and club. Miriam also enjoyed crocheting, quilting,
gardening and canning.
She is survived by three children: Marian K. (James) Brandt,
Bainbridge; Lynn T. (Patti) Floyd, Mount Joy and Steven L. (Kristin)
Floyd, Chambersburg; four grandchildren: Miranda and Gabrielle Brandt,
and Erica and Allison Floyd; and three brothers: Jay (Gail) Forry,
Jacob Lee (Joanne) Forry and Richard Forry.
Miriam was preceded in death by a son Lawrence Kevin Floyd.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the
First Church of God, 144 South Market Street, Elizabethtown at 11:00
AM. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends on
Friday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
Interment will take place in Milton Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Compassionate Care
Hospice or to the church.
