Mildred N. (Deems) Smith

Mildred Ninetta (Deems) Smith, 93, of Marietta, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Monday, June 29, 2015, following a brief illness.  She was born Easter Sunday, April 16, 1922 in Gibsonia, PA to the late Elmer R. and Iona (Phillips) Deems.  She was married to William D. Smith, Sr. for over 59 years.  William died September 24, 1999.

She will be lovingly missed by her children: Wenda K. Kauffman and husband Ken, Jr., of Marietta; Sandra I. Smith, of Keiser, Oregon; Bill D. Smith, Jr., of Marietta; Audrey A. Stankiewicz and husband Stephen, of Windsor; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren as well as her extended family and caring friends.  She was predeceased by two grandsons and a sister.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Smedley-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 29 North Gay Street, Marietta, PA 17547.  Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to view at the funeral home on Thursday from 12 Noon until the time of the service.
