Mildred (Lawson) Gallagher, 85, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in County Meadows of Hershey.  She was born Friday, February 27, 1931 in New York, NY to the late Edward D. and Alouise (Windishman) Lawson.  She was predeceased on Sunday, May 20, 2012 by her loving husband of 59 years Major (Ret) Edward W. Gallagher, USMC.

She cherished and honored her role as a Marine Officers wife for 23 years, later settling on the homestead farm on Hershey Road where she enjoyed raising and loving her family, mowing the grass, and being integral in the lives of her cherished grandchildren.  She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church for over 40 years, known throughout the community as an Avon representative, and also helped in the family business at the Palmyra Pharmacy.  All who knew her will miss her ageless smile, timeless beauty and loving heart.

She is survived by three daughters, Kathrine S. Bradley and husband Roy of Hamburg, Betsy Gallagher of Bainbridge, and Margaret A. Conforti of Palmyra; one son, Michael W. Gallagher and wife Sandy of Cornwall; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Kristopher J. Conforti; and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 31st at 7 PM at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Rev. Jim Smith officiating.  Family and friends are invited for visitation from 6 PM until time of the service.  Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
