Mildred W. “Millie” Floyd, 87, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Rheems Nursing Center. Born in East Donegal Twp., she was the daughter of the late Nathan B. and Lydia (Waltz) Werner. She was the wife of the late James R. Floyd who died in 2004.
Mrs. Floyd was a member of the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren where she volunteered in the nursery. She retired in 1986 from Bodenstein’s Garment Factory where she was employed for 42 years. Mrs. Floyd was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Milton Grove Sportmans Club. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing games and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a sister-in-law Arlene (Wesley) Bitner; a brother-in-law Carl (Doris) Floyd; three nieces: Dolly (Charles) White; Linda (Jack) Harris and Patricia (Perry) Ansel; and three nephews: Bob (Linda) Shenk; Jim Werner and Clair (Mary) Ginder.
Millie was preceded in death by one brother Ira Werner and five sisters: Martha Stahl, Florence Ginder, Anna Mae Werner, Mary Diem and Miriam Shenk.
A Funeral Service will be held at Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Viewing will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Chiques Cemetery, Manheim.
