Michele D. (Lovekin) Parkinson

Michele D. (Lovekin) Parkinson, 72, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at her home in West Donegal Township.  Born Saturday, January 8, 1949, in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ira S. and Doris J. (Price) Lovekin.  She was married to Jeffery H. Parkinson on November 14, 1981.

Michele was a 1966 graduate of East Conemaugh High School, Johnstown, PA.  In her earlier years, she worked as a Legal Secretary until focusing much of her time on her two children and three granddaughters. Michele had a passion for cooking, canning, baking, crochet and reading.

In addition to her husband of over 39 ½ years, she is survived by two children: Kevin S. Parkinson, of Elizabethtown and Christina A. “Kristy” Stouffer, married to Josh, of Elizabethtown.  Also surviving are three grandchildren: Kailey, Brooklyn and Liliana Stouffer, all of Elizabethtown; a sister, Deborah J. Lovekin, of Mineral Point; a nephew, Richard W. Lovekin, married to Kristi (Friedeberg), of Sandusky, OH, as well as Michele’s extended family and caring friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Ryan D. Lovekin.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, June 11, 2021 in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, 1058 South Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543.
