MELVIN D. SCHNEIDER
Melvin D. Schneider, 71, of Mount Joy, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the Lancaster General Hospital.
He was born on August 4, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Melvin C. & Therma (Henning) Schneider.
He was a graduate of Parkville High School and the University of Maryland.
Melvin was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War, and served in the Air National Guard both in Maryland & Pennsylvania.
He was retired from AMP, Inc. International Division as a product marketing manager.
He was a HAM Radio operator, he was well versed on a wide variety of topics no matter how obscure, he had a very outgoing & sociable personality, and he greatly enjoyed his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife Catherine M. (Campbell) Schneider, four sons Scott A. and his wife Michelle, Craig M., Robbie D., Marc E. and his fiancé Tara Omlor, two brothers Keith and his wife Karen, Blair and his wife Wendy, three grandchildren Ethan C., Evan C.,
and Emma.
Funeral services will be held at 12pm (Noon) on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in the Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory of Elizabethtown.
Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Viewing will be from 11am until12pm (Noon) on Wednesday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Melvin’s honor may be made to the Susquehanna Association for the Blind 244 North Queen Street Lancaster, PA 17603.
