Mary Lou (Herman) Romig

Mary Lou Romig, 84, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2014 at Juniper Village in Mount Joy.

She was born on June 10, 1930 in Beaver Springs, to the late James & Hazel (Bingman) Herman.

Mary Lou was retired from the Elizabethtown Area School District as the head cook at the East High Street Elementary School.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, where she had sung in the church choir, was also a member of the Elizabethtown Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, and volunteered with the Meals on Wheels program for many years. She enjoyed playing BINGO, was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and camping, attending musical performances to watch her granddaughter perform, and most importantly being a part of her family’s lives.

She was the widow of Clifford L. Romig.

Surviving are two daughters Linda L. Bretz and her husband Michael of Laughlin, NV, Susan K. John and her husband James of Harrisburg, a sister Leona Zerbe of Chalfont, PA, four grandchildren Leslie Crater (Robert) , Lindsay Bretz- Morgan, Jamie John ( Ljay McDonald), Katie John (David Bulakowski), four great grandchildren Adrianna John, Jaylin McDonald, Julian McDonald, and Juelz McDonald.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, October 11, 2014 in St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Elizabethtown. Burial will be in Mt. Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown.

Viewing will be from 12pm until 1pm on Saturday in the church.
