Mary Jane (Zimmerman) Wehibe

Mary Jane Wehibe, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John and Emma (Ressler) Zimmerman. Mary Jane was the loving wife to Shawle Wehibe for 55 years.

Mary Jane was a very active member of Bossler Mennonite Church and loved crocheting prayer shawls. She was a nurse and a missionary. She was an avid 76ers fan, loved plants, music, and canning. Mary Jane was described as a giving heart, very passionate about helping others. Above all else, she was a loving grandmother, always proud of her grandchildren, who were the center of her life.

In addition to her husband, Mary Jane is survived by her son, Dr. Stephen Wehibe and wife, Dr. Catherine Edmonds; two grandchildren, Tara and Bennett Wehibe; seven siblings, Martha, Margie, Joyce, Richard, Melvin, Johnny, and Mildred. She is preceded in death by her two siblings, Laura and Carl, along with her parents.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 11AM at Bossler Mennonite Church, 2021 Bossler Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. A time of fellowship will follow the burial from 12:30-3PM at Mount Joy Mennonite Church, 320 Musser Rd, Mount Joy, PA 17552. Family and friends are invited to view on Sunday, December 29, from 4-6PM at Bossler Mennonite Church.
