Mary Ellen (Luprek) Pavusek

Mary Ellen (Luprek) Pavusek was born on October 18, 1947 at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital in Johnstown, PA.  She went to be her Lord and Savior on August 18, 2022.

Mary Ellen graduated from Johnstown High School in June of 1965.  She went on to work in Washington, D.C. with the U.S. Department of the Navy.  Mary Ellen reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Dennis Pavusek and they were married on June 28, 1980.  Together they worked at the Naval Base until their retirement.

Mary Ellen has four children:  Scott and wife Michelle, Sherrie Gaugler and husband Michael, Todd and wife Erica, and Cindy.  She also had a step-daughter, Clarisa. She was blessed with six grandchildren:  Emily, Lukac, Kaitlyn, Mikaela, Dylan, and Lana.

Surviving are her husband, Dennis; two sisters, Karen & Marty; and a brother, Danny.  Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Francis Luprek and her brothers, Louie & Joe.

In her free time, Mary Ellen enjoyed volunteering with the local Meals on Wheels program and working as the official “Cookie Grandma” for Girl Scout Troop # 71518. She also enjoyed volunteering at her church. But what she cherished most of all was traveling, especially going on cruises with her family.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 11 AM at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church Rd., 300 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078. Burial will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Meals on Wheels, Feeding America, P.O. Box 96749, Washington, D.C. 20090-6749
