Mary J. (Rasp) Nye

Mary Jane (Rasp) Nye, 86, of Annville, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Countryside Christian Community.  She was born Friday, August 16, 1929 in Campbelltown to the late John and Mary (Miller) Rasp.  She was predeceased by her loving husband Howard L. Nye, Jr. in 1989.

Mary was a dedicated homemaker, who enjoyed baking, decorating for the holidays, and tending to her beautiful flower beds and garden.  She also enjoyed taking bus trips with her friends and cousins.  Most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by a son, Howard L. Nye, III and wife Dawn of Palmyra; 4 daughters, Sherry Rubendall and husband Scott of Benton, Shelia Custer and husband Jeffrey of Annville, Debra George and husband Kenneth of Annville, and Dawn Rivera and husband John of Palmyra; 7 grandchildren, Rebecca Nye and companion Chris Sheetz of Palmyra, Amy Custer of Lebanon, Julie Gottlieb and husband Jason of Sparrowbush, NY, Benjamin Custer Myerstown, Jared George and wife Alicia of Greenpoint, Clayton George and wife Leslie of Palmyra, and Tyler Rivera of Palmyra; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother Clifford Rasp of Annville; and 2 sisters, Bernice Johnson of Abbottstown and Mildred Stuck of Duncannon.  She was predeceased by a grandson, Jonathan Nye; and a brother, Millard Rasp.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 11 AM at Countryside Christian Community, 200 Bellann Ct., Annville 17003.  Family and friends are invited for viewing from 9:30 AM until time of the service.  Burial will follow the service in North Bellegrove Cemetery, Annville. Arrangements have been entrusted to Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Countryside Christian Community.
