Mary Jane (Hemperly) Hoffman, 80, of Falmouth, PA, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026. Mary was born November 11, 1945 in Bainbridge, PA to Glenn and Jane (Feeser) Hemperly (who preceded her in death). Mary is survived by her husband, Claude Richard Hoffman (married May 3, 1964); one daughter, Cari Beenenga and husband William; four sons, Chad Hoffman, Chris Hoffman and wife Angie, Chet Hoffman, Cory Hoffman and wife Kelly; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by five siblings; Glenn (and Carol) Hemperly, Lloyd Hemperly, Margie (and James) Smith, Leone Hipple and John (and Vicki) Hemperly.
Mary centered her life around serving others in home and church. She was a true homemaker, showing motherly love not only to her children, but to anyone around her. She showed infinite patience; never too busy to mend clothes, prepare a meal and most importantly, intently listened to offer true wisdom to anyone in need. She showed bravery raising her children without fear or hesitation, responding to injuries and questionable decisions with a smile, support and homemade soup.
Mary was a devoted Christian throughout her life and a true child of God. While she was fully involved in Word of Life Chapel, including teaching Sunday School, she showed her faith through giving love and reliable help to all. She firmly believed children raised in a home where the teachings of Jesus were practiced were much better equipped to face the challenges they would encounter.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for unwavering integrity, exceeding generosity and her love for God.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, April 15 at Word of Life Chapel, 139 Wickersham Road, Bainbridge, PA 17502. Mary’s family welcomes everyone to join them in food and fellowship immediately following the service. A private burial will take place in Falmouth Cemetery, Falmouth, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Word of Life Chapel.
