MARVIN W. HELT, JR.
Marvin W. Helt, Jr., 81 of Westminster, Maryland and formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
He was born on August 12, 1932 in Reinerton, Schuylkill County, PA to the late Marvin W. Helt, Sr. and Dorothy (Bressler) Helt.
He was a graduate of Elizabethtown High School and a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean War.
Marvin was retired from the United States Department of the Navy as an electronics technician.
He was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Silver Spring, MD and the American Legion.
He enjoyed working on old cars, cooking and spending time with his family.
He was the widow of Janet E. Helt to whom he was married for 57 years.
Surviving are two sons Mark T. Helt and his wife Darlene of Laurel, MD, Roy T. Helt and his wife Deborah of Elizabethtown, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 4, 2014 in the Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, Elizabethtown.
Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.
Visitation will be from 10am until 11am on Saturday, January 4, 2014 in the funeral home.
